In “Divine Rivals,” the first installment of the Letters of Enchantment series by Rebecca Ross, eighteen-year-old journalist Iris Winnow confronts personal turmoil and divine wars. Struggling with her mother’s addiction and her brother’s absence from war, Iris aims to advance at the Oath Gazette. Her life intertwines with Roman Kitt, her competitor at the paper, through magical letters that kindle a deep connection. As their love blossoms amidst escalating battles between once-slumbering gods, Iris is drawn into the conflict to fight for her family and humanity. This enemies-to-lovers tale combines the mystique of magical correspondence with the epic narrative of deific struggles.
