Kathy’s car stalled right in the middle of dangerous traffic, and she barely made it to the side of the road. It was not out of gas, but no matter what she did, it just wouldn’t run anymore. Nancy challenged Kathy to ask God for help, a foreign concept to this author at the time, and Nancy said she would agree with the prayer. With nowhere else to turn, Kathy says, “My prayer went something like this: Okay God could you please fix my car? Please let me have it for today so I can get to class and work, amen.” It worked. The car started and ran fine for that one day, just as she had asked.
